What Is Asphalt Resurfacing?
Asphalt resurfacing, sometimes referred to as asphalt overlay, is the process of installing a new layer of asphalt over the existing pavement surface. Typically about 1.5″ to 2″ thick, asphalt resurfacing can sometimes be a cost-effective solution so long as the subgrade base layer remains in stable condition. In cases where the existing asphalt pavement has been heavily damaged, it is more cost-effective, efficient and safe to reconstruct rather than resurface the asphalt.
